Abraham Lincoln, First Debate with Stephen free essay sample

Freedom, and demanding that there is no correct guideline Of activity however personal circumstance. Prior to continuing, let me state I think have no partiality against the Southern individuals. They are exactly what we would be in their circumstance. In the event that bondage didn't presently exist among them, they would not present it. On the off chance that it did now exist among us, we ought not immediately surrender it. This I accept of the majority North and South. Without a doubt there are people on the two sides, who might not hold slaves under any conditions; and other people who might readily present subjection over again, in the event that it were out of existence. We realize that some Southern men do free their slaves, go North, and become tiptop Abolitionists; while some Northern ones go South, and become most unfeeling slave drivers. At the point when Southern individuals reveal to us they are not any more liable for the starting point of subjugation than we, recognize the reality. At the point when it is said that the foundation exists, and that it is hard to dispose of it, in any palatable way, can comprehend and welcome the truism. We will compose a custom paper test on Abraham Lincoln, First Debate with Stephen or on the other hand any comparative point explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page I clearly won't reprimand them for not doing what ought not realize how to do myself. If all natural force were given me, I ought not recognize what to do, with respect to the current establishment. My first drive is free all the slaves, and send them to Liberia,- to their own local land. Be that as it may, a minutes reflection would persuade me, that whatever of high expectation, (as I think there may be) there might be in this, over the long haul, its unexpected execution is inconceivable. In the event that they were completely arrived there in a day, they would all die in the following ten days; and there are not surplus transportation and surplus cash enough on the planet to convey them there in ordinarily ten days. What at that point? Free them all, and keep them among us as subordinates? Is it very sure that this betters their condition? Figure I would not hold one in subjugation at any ate; yet the fact of the matter isn't sufficiently clear to me to criticize individuals upon. What next? Free them, and make them strategically and socially our equivalents? My own sentiments won't concede to this; and if mine would, we surely understand that those of the incredible mass of white individuals won't. Regardless of whether this inclination concurs with equity and sound judgment, isn't the sole inquiry, assuming, without a doubt, it is any piece of it.A all inclusive inclination, whether well or poorly established, can't be securely dismissed. We can't, at that point, make them rises to. It seems to me that frameworks of slow liberation may be received; yet for their lateness in his, won't attempt to pass judgment on our brethren of the South. At the point when they help us to remember their sacred rights, I recognize them, not hesitantly, however completely and reasonably; and would give them any enactment for the recovering of their escapees, which ought not, in its toughness, be bound to convey a liberated person into bondage, than our common criminal laws are to hang a blameless one.But this, to my judgment, outfits no more reason for allowing subjection to go into our own free region, than it would for resuscitating the African slave-exchange by law. The law which prohibits the bringing of slaves from Africa, ND that which has so long disallow the taking of them to Nebraska, can barely be recognized on any ethical rule; and the nullification of the previous could discover very as conceivable reasons as that of the last mentioned. I have motivation to realize that Judge Douglas realizes that I said this. Indication he has the appropriate response here to one of the inquiries he put to me. I don't intend to permit him to catechist me except if he repays for it in kind. Won't answer addresses in a steady progression, except if he responds; however as he has made this request, and I have addressed it previously, he has received it without my receiving anything consequently. He as found my solution on the Fugitive Slave law. Presently, noble men, I dont need to peruse at any more prominent length, however this is the genuine appearance of all I have ever said concerning the organization of subjugation and the dark race. This is its entire, and anything that contends me into his concept of ideal social and political balance with the negro, is nevertheless a probable and awesome game plan of words, by which a man can demonstrate a pony chestnut to be a chestnut pony. [Laughter. ] I will say here, while upon this subject, have no reason, legitimately or by implication, to meddle with the foundation of subjugation in the States here it exists. I trust I have no legal option to do as such, and have no tendency to do as such. I have no reason to present political and social uniformity between the white and the dark races.

Minorsky (1957: 78) recognized that the name of the tiny village Qala Paswe near Solduz in Kurdestan retains the memory of the Iranian settlements (cf. also Zadok 200 1; 2002). The successors of the Parswa tribes who settled in the southwest of the Iranian plateau created the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 558-330 BCE) which, beginning with the Sasanian period (2 24-6 5 1 CE) and thereafter, ultimately resulted in the dominance of Persian over the Iranian expanse. This tourist location is nationally known. Thousands of people a year come to Mackinaw City to enjoy the view of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. They also come to drive across the five mile long Mackinaw Bridge. It is a small town with hotels on every street. As I first arrived into Mackinaw City I noticed the Mackinaw Bridge far off in the distance. The colors of the bridge were a pale peach color with a hint of pale yellow. The bridge was always visible from any part in Mackinaw City because of how big it was and how tall it stood. As I looked around I saw hundreds of hotels surrounding the roads. Going down the road hundreds of people were walking to places whether it was to go to get ice cream or to go to a small grocery store. Hotels were lined up on the shore of Lake Huron. The people there were very nice and courteous. As we walked into our hotel room, which was on the third floor, the light from outside shined through the balcony doors. I walked out on the balcony and on my left you could see the Mackinaw Bridge clear as day and on he right you could see all the ferries headed to Mackinaw Island. After we got settled in we headed down to the beach. The water was freezing cold but it was still fun because every time a ferry passed by huge waves of water would travel up to the shore and crash into it. I was excited because the next morning we got to take a ferry under the Mackinaw Bridge and to Mackinaw Island. The ferry went fast and there was a lot of wind which made it colder than it actually was but it was still fun! As we got further away from Mackinaw City the more you see of it. It was a beautiful sight. As the ferry got closer to Mackinaw Island you could see more and more people walking around the island. There were no cars at all, all there was, was trolleys being pulled around by horses. Entering the island you notice the buildings are very historic and old. There were a ton of hills. The island is like one big circle. A small beach area was on the island and in the distance you could see the Mackinaw Bridge. As the sun was shining down on the island it make the lake glisten and it made it bluer than it would be if it was cloudy. The streets were filled with people riding bikes and getting on the trolleys. While you were on the island you could walk up a bunch of stairs up to Fort Mackinac. It is a historical landmark where the attack of 1812 happened. As you walk around Fort Mackinac you see a group of people reenacting the historical event that happened there. Being that far up on a hill, you could see all of Mackinaw Island. The sun made everything shine brighter. Going here was very relaxing and you werent worried about anything. It was like all that weight got lifted off your shoulders and you were free to have fun and do what made this a very memorable vacation for me, which I will never forget.

Strong emotional impact on audience Essay Example

Strong emotional impact on audience Essay Example Strong emotional impact on audience Essay Strong emotional impact on audience Essay Choose a production you have seen during your course, which made a strong emotional impact on audience. Discuss in detail one scene or section that made an impact on you. You will need to refer to the activity on stage, the audience reaction possible lighting, sound, set design or custom.  I have chosen to write about the production Blood Brothers by Willy Russell due to the reason I have been studying the story as a section in my course.  The scene that I shall be discussing is the very last scene in which Mickey is seen to have a lot of anxiety towards Linda and Eddie. Mickey has a lot of anger and range as he has just seen Linda his wife and his best friend Eddie kiss. The scene begins in the setting of the town hall were Eddie the rather successful one is holding a meeting with two councillors. He is dressed up smartly due to the job he does this conveys his status which is also ironical due to the fact that his blood brother Mickey is not very successful in life. The scene continues with Mickey who enters erratically interrupts him. Mickey is breathing awkwardly this make the audience unsettle as the way they have seen Mickey as a child, is a change as you see someone completely different at the end than you saw at the begging as a load playful child. The lighting is quite bright and concentrated on the main stage and characters. There are no other sound interruptions as this helps the audience pay attention to what is being said on stage. Mickey pulls out a gun, which shocks the audience and also Eddie as it is intended for him. The audience is becoming more aware of the situation and how it may end. The audience has already reached an emotion point due to the past events that have made the audience more intact with the story. The audience are always aware that it will not be a happy ending as the Narrator has pointed out in his singing. I think that this scene conveys how a child can be affected by society. Taking Mickey as an example of the child and his family and friends and the way he has been treated by the law is the society. This is why Mickey is so angry. Edward and Mickey argue for a while. Edward is clearly treated by Mickey but is also trying to keep him calm.  Mickey is outraged and talks about how Lindas child could have been Eddies. Mickey is confused and this is portrayed to the audience by there is continues pauses between his speech. Mickey is lower status than Eddie due to the fact that Mickey is wearing jeans and a black casual jacket. A person dresses according to there lifestyle as Mickey does not have a lot of money he wears what is comfortable to him. Eddie has a career that demands him to be smart he is also paid for being smart this shows how status is reflected in different types lifestyle. There is a lot of tension in the room the audience feel sorry for Mickey but are also concerned for Eddie. Mickey is rather pale at the end due to the fact that he has been though a rather depressing period in his life and this has drained all of the life out of him. He is very nervous he occasionally shaking his gun shows this. All of these factors combined give two views to the audience that Mickey is the hopeless one and that Eddie is more enhanced one this is why the audience understand what has pushed Mickey so far that he is in the position of killing his brother. The character of Mickey says I stopped taking the pills he is implying the anti-depressant pills this shows that at one point Mickey felt as though he had hope and it has all now gone. Edward tries to keep quite as he tires not to be noticed by Mickey too much. Eddies hand gestures are small and he does not move around the stage too much he stand in a position pleading with Mickey. On the other hand Mickey is fuming around the stage he is thinking to him self as well as confronting Eddie. I think that the characters are positioned in such an opposite way because they try to portray that they are so unalike. When the police enter from the two stage doors situated in the audience this grabs the audiences attention. I think that this was cleverly done as the audience now feel as though there are in side the scenes they are actually apart of what is going on. The entrance of the police is unexpected therefore the result is that the audience are on edge of there seats. The voices of the police are extra load as the officers have a mega phones. There is a lot of commotion due to this the police plead with Mickey. In this scene there is a set above the stage where Mrs Johnston is watching I think this shows how the mother wants to be there for both of her sons. Mrs Johnston is worried about the outcome throughout the play he had a guilty conscience she knows that something like will happen.

Management Theory and Practice Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Management Theory and Practice - Research Paper Example These strategic endeavours have played a vital role in altering the early management approaches from classical to scientific view points. Certainly, these gradual alterations resulted in the development of the traditional management theories which are often categorised as scientific concepts of business management. For instance, where the early management practices described by classical management theories were based on centralized decision making processes, the modern scientific theories have been concentrated on the significance of economic efficiency obtained through a decentralised operational process (Harpaz, 2003). With due regards to the above mentioned aspects, this essay intends to present a discussion highlighting the reasons which have influenced the growth of human relations movement in the industrial contexts, particularly since the early years of the 20th century. By addressing the issue, the discussion of the essay would further attempt to recognise that whether the m ovements have eradicated the influence of various classical and scientific management theories taking into account the industrial context of the global automobile sector of the current 21st century. Reasons for the Growth of Human Relation Movements in Early 20th Century With the modernization of the world, the operations of every industry had to witness certain alterations being influenced by certain factors such as increasing governmental influence over the industrial operations, rapidly changing market demands, increasing competition and swerving technology advancements among others. However, these developments also influenced the managerial operations to be increasingly complex and diverse. One key which was identified to manage these alterations was the role of human resources which deliberately attracted the policies practiced by modern day organizations in keeping their manpower satisfied, productive and motivated. Hence, in order to overcome the problems of multidimensional approaches, every industry was forced to introduce a better comprehensive and concise HRM approach in their operational process. Notably, these changes had been apparent since the 20th century. In the unconventional perspective, HRM can be described as the approach which helps an industry to perform systematically by understanding and motivating the employees effectively satisfying their needs along with considering the code of conducts enforced by the authoritative bodies (Fine & et. al., 1996; Jackson & Schuler, 1995). To illustrate, the automobile industry also had to introduce a better approach towards HRM, altering its production oriented centralised business procedure, in order to achieve the objectives effectively in early 20th century. Consequently, the primary objective of the global market was formulated with due concentration on customer satisfaction and quality issues of the product and/or services rendered, apart from being focused on the quantity aspect by retaining a good working environment for the employees. Notably, it was principally during this century that the management theories became increasingly based upon the concept which deliberated employee satisfaction and the consequent result of high human resource productivity to be directly related with customer satisfaction and loyalty (Ahmad & Schroeder, 2003). The major reasons to influence such alterations in the automobile

Contrasting Cities. Miami and Charleston Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Contrasting Cities. Miami and Charleston - Essay Example This vast collection of states and the cities within them offer huge variety of language, culture, food habits, dressing style and ethnicity. Among all such variances, it was really confusing to select the appropriate city for the present report. After a lot of brainstorming, I decided to compare the cities of Miami within the state of Florida and Charleston belonging to South Carolina. The cities are totally opposite to each other. While Miami is highly contemporary in their style, Charleston exhibits a conventional manner of lifestyle. Both the cities have their own charm. Culture and Tradition Miami is one of Florida’s and the entire world’s most well-liked vacation destinations. It offers several temptation and interests to several group of people from all around the world. The city consists of stylish nightlife, extremely caffeinated liveliness of the Little Havana and the remarkable secrete of the Coral Gables. The city even offers facilities for the activities like fishing, golfing, football, hockey, baseball, basketball and playing tennis for the sports lovers. The presence of over 25 beaches makes the city a perfect spot for spending leisure time and getting relief from anxiety and stress of the daily work life. On the other hand Charleston is seemingly opposite to Miami. It is the oldest and the most ethnic city of USA. Charleston is also known to be one of the most gracious and has been voted as the warmest city of America through the various opinion polls conducted by several magazines. The city comprise of a hospitable and well mannered group of people who exhibit a blend of British, French and West African culture. The city offers an ambience encircling art festivals, history, music and culture. Neighborhood and Food Miami has got an assorted neighborhood. The city has got the giant pouncing banyan tree at the Coral Gables with wide-open paths that makes the place as one of the most attractive and traditional neighborhoods of the city. Shoppers look for superior boutiques and elegant stores for bridal wears and leather goods at the Coral Gables. The Coconut Grove on the other hand offers an altogether different feel with the presence of the galleries, sidewalk cafes and the boutiques. T he little bohemian village ambience is further supported by small cafes and college bars standing in a line by the street. The rural west neighborhood in Coconut Grove is the historic enclave of the present era depicting the early civilization of the African-American and Bahamian descendants. This place is home to several admired annual events. The Sunny Isles Beach forms a relatively jovial neighborhood of Miami. The atmosphere in this place is very casual displaying funky motels of the 1950s style and the hotels of the beachfront which facilitates an entirely luxurious lifestyle. This place has the provisions for swimming and sunbathing. The Cuban effect on the foods can be significantly felt for the lamb or chicken dishes. In Miami, meat is generally prepared with vegetables and tomato sauce and is served with rice. The most important dishes of the city includes    grilled fish, fried pork chops, onions and peppers served with sausage or ham with tomatoes. The regional influenc e can be seen in the colors and flavors of the desserts of Miami. Thus it can be concluded that Miami is a diverse city which has got everything for everyone (PriceTravel.com n.d.). Charleston being one of the oldest towns of the US offers charm and history along with its other features. The Mt. Pleasant is located across the Cooper River on the middle of Charleston. There is an old village that includes historic houses which seems to be the most attracti

HR data collection Essay Example for Free

HR data collection Essay HR data collection makes company able to measure against it supporting workforce planning, monitoring progress and development, developing initiatives for generic cases. It identifies and analyses information to aid the organization in making ultimate decisions both beneficial to the organization and its employees. Two reasons considered closely. Through HR data collection an organisation can: 1) comply with legislative and regulatory requirements regarding equal opportunities, equal pay audits, recruitment, assessing skills balance, absence recording. 2) monitor training and performance for employees, assessing each individual employee for productivity and identifying training needs. That means assessing the productivity within the business. Being well informed about the workforce is the key to aim the ultimate goal of the organization. Data collection enables management team to make informed decisions about future activity. Two types of data collected and their support: 1) Attendances is useful to monitor and gauge daily working hours and monitor absences. That enables HR to manage regular absentees successful and deal with any issues the employee might have. 2) Organisational records which includes: staff turnover, absenteeism, recruitment documentation, learning and development. HR department can monitor staff level making decision about a further recruitment process. It is also essential collecting and updating employee records such as home addresses and people to contact in time of emergency. These information are helpful where the employee not to come to work without notice. Records can be stored: 1) Electronically through computerised system. In this way organization can keep information up to date easily and any information can be sent and received rapidly. It also reduce company costs and the amount of data can be stored with no taking up much office space and they can be sorted, found, moved and protected easily. 2) Manually in paper format. In this case the risk of corrupted data is less and information are accessible in any time considering occurrences of power cuts or electronic system crashes. Moreover problems with duplicates of the same record are usually avoided. Two items of UK legislation relating to recording and storing HR data: 1) Data Protection Act, 1998. It concerns all personal records whether held in paper or electronic format. The act contains eight protection principles specifying personal data must be: Processed fairly and lawfully. Obtained for specified and lawful purposes. Adequate, relevant and not excessive. Accurate and up to date. Not kept any longer than necessary. Processed in accordance with the â€Å"data subject’s† (the individual’s) rights. Securely kept. Not transferred to any other country outside the EU without adequate protection in situ. 2) Freedom of Information Act, 2000. It allows people to ask any public body for information on both any subject an organization has and themselves too. So that the act encourages organization to be transparent and, unless a valid reason, the organization must provide requested information within 20 working days. Through this act people can access to informations needed and ensure they are not exploited or used inappropriately.

Shark Attacks Essays -- Sharks Ocean Life Attacks Essays

Shark Attacks The serious attacks are mainly by four species. The Bull shark. the Tiger, the Great White and the Oceanic Whitetip shark. The Grey Nurse (Sand Tiger) and the Bronze Whaler have for many years been blamed for many attacks but it seems nearly all were mistaken identity. The Grey Nurse is now protected in most States in Australia. The Great White is the largest and has a high percentage of fatal attacks. The Bull shark is responsible for a lot of attacks on swimmers and people in shallow water. From reports it seems a lot of these attacks were only one bite but a large percentage of the victims died of blood loss and shock. It is likely to be the worlds number one killer shark on swimmers. I have heard of a lot of encounters with scuba divers but have so far been unable to find any attacks. The Tiger shark usually spends daylight hours in deep water and comes into shallow areas around reefs and coastline during the night. It has been responsible for a large number of deaths. This includes swimmers, surfers and scuba divers. Many divers swim with these sharks with no problem but a large Tiger shark is more than capable of killing a human. Overall, there are very few fatal attacks on scuba divers. I have not been able to find any over the last twenty years except for one in 1991 and two in 1993. Ironically these were both in the same month. They were all by Great White sharks. According to the book, Shark Attacks by Mac Mc Diarmid, 9 out of 10 shark attacks happen within 1.6 metres of the surface. One third of attacks are fatal. Most victims are male. Although there have been very few fatal attacks on scuba divers, there have been quite a few on spearfisherman and abalone divers. Many of these fatal attacks have occurred in South Australia in areas well known for Great Whites. Abalone divers nearly always work in areas where seals are present and the water is cool. This is ideal for attracting the Great White. Add to this the fact that they spend an enormous time in the water and it is a recipe for disaster. It was noticed in California USA, that Abalone divers were only attacked north of Point Conception. It was later discovered that the law in North California did not allow abalone divers to use scuba equipment, which meant they spent much more time at the surface. In southern California scuba was permitted! Spearfishing has two major... ... with captive dolphins. The dolphins were bottlenose dolphins--there were 5 in the pod, one of which was a calf. So it could be a female pod. When the three people went into the water, they swam with the dolphins without fins or masks--so they were not as agile underwater as they could have been, nor as equipped as many people are when they are swimming with captive or solitary dolphins. Martin was left alone in the water (his choice). The dolphins initially disappeared on him. Martin saw the shark attack him from the depths. He said he was bitten four times. In one of the attacks, Martin said that he punched the shark on the snout. We do not yet know the species of the shark. The doctors in the Egyptian hospital in El Tur said that it was only one shark and by the size of the bite marks, they believe it was between 4-5 meters (we are looking for someone who is a professional to help identify the species from the bite wounds). It was the dolphins' choice to return and to help Martin. They were not close to him at the time of the attack. They probably took some risk to do this, as there was a calf in their pod. They were not fed by the boat. Thank you for reading my paper.

Keeping Сhildren Safe

I have been involved in identifying hazards in my setting, such as in the water play area, the children accidently spilling water on the floor from splashing the water out of the water bowl and from trying to experiment with pouring and filling bottles. Therefore, because this happened I proceeded to use in initiative and clean up the spillage on the floor. The procedure I had took in this situation was that I asked the children to step away from the puddle on the floor and I informed one other staff about what I had seen and asked if they can keep an eye on children while I went to go and get a mop or a towel to clean up the spilt area. I then went to collect the appropriate facilities and clean up the wet area so the children would not slip over and hurt themselves.Once I had cleaned it all up I changed the clothes of a child, as they was wet from playing in the water and it hen put a dry towel on the floor so if there is another spillage, the towel will keep it fairly dry. P4. 2it is important to understand the different policy’s that provide a healthy and safe environment for staff and children. My nursery follow the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) and the Reporting of Injuries and Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).When I have identified the hazard, the procedure, the setting would like me to take, is to clean it up straight away. This is so the children do not fall over and injure them self. It mentions in the health and safety policies that when there is a spillage on the floor you must clear the area and mop up the spillage. I now know how to follow the settings policies and procedure as I have a copy of them at home therefore I can keep looking through them and making sure I am following the rules.P4. 3- If this was to happen again I would act quicker in dealing with the situation because I noticed while I was clean up the spilt area more children was wantin g to come over and play with the water. However I think I acted well because I managed to see a hazard and act upon it straight away before any children slipped over. P4. 1- I have been involved in dealing with minor accidents and injuries in my setting. For example I have filled in two different accident forms ofincidents that I have witnessed, such as a child falling over and grazing a knee or arm. The procedure I took in this situation was to comfort the child who had fallen over and bring the child to a bench in the outdoor play area to sit down. I had a look at the graze on the left leg and then I then told the child that I was going to get a wet paper towel to put over the graze. I went into the classroom and got the wet paper towel and the accident form. I went back over the child and asked her if she would want to hold the towel on her leg. While she was holding it down I started to fill the form out, I wrote down her full name, her age, location of incident, the date on inci dent, what happened, were she hurt herself, the treatment she was given, then I had to write down my name as I was the witness, another member of staff who witnessed it and finally I had to put my signature. Once I finished filling the form out, I had another look at her grazed leg and it was looking better, I asked if she wanted to stay sitting down or if she wanted to go back and play again, she said she wanted to play so I let her go but I kept a close eye on her.P4. 2- An accident book is available which must be filled in if any child or member of staff sustains an injury whilst on the premises. Details of how, when, where and who the accident happened to must be recorded by the member of staff who saw and dealt with the injury. The treatment given must also be recorded. The child’s parent will be shown this information when the child is collected from nursery and requested to sign the form. If a child’s injury is more serious than the everyday bumps and bruises, t he parent will be contacted immediately and informed of the situation.Accident records are reviewed regularly during senior meetings. P4. 3- looking back now at this incident I think I acted positively trough out the incident, because comforted the child and acted upon the injury accurately. I think if this happened again I would ask for a member of the staff to help as I left the child alone of a little while and the child may of needed some with them for comfort while I went for the wet paper towel. Also I think I will look out for any safety hazards in the outdoor play area so the accident is prevented and no one else will hurt themselves.

Punishment That Befits The Sin Essay - 1813 Words

Myles P. Toe Professor Cynthia Gaw World literature 11 November 2016 Punishment that Befits the Sin Dante’s Inferno originally named The Divine Comedy or in modern Italian The Commedia , follows the contemporary Christian ethos by showing how the consequences of man are equal to their sins; passed upon them in death. The physical sins that man does on earth if not repented of, will then become their eternal consequence in Hell. Dante shows us in his travels through the circles of hell how this suffering is the direct and equal result of their earthly sins. The sins of the cowardice, the lustful, gluttonous, greedy, angry, heretical, violent, fraudulent and treacherous have their bodies in constant pain equivalent of the actions of their human bodies on earth. The thesis of this paper is to show how physical pain enacted upon corporeal bodies in hell, are the logical consequence of sin on earth. I will show this by citing examples of sinners featured in The inferno that are tortured for the sins in their respective layer of hell. The Inferno is based directly upon Danteà ¢â‚¬â„¢s devout catholic nature. The inferno is mixed with the bible, roman Catholicism, mythology and medieval tradition with a direct influence of 14th century roman Catholicism. The passage concerning purgatory is a direct indoctrination from roman Catholicism and is not found anywhere in the bible.
